I know diabetes patience could urinate more. Is it because they drink too much because of thirsty, or because of high blood glucose level or both?

If we ONLY consider the increased level of glucose concentration in blood of a person, this will enhance your urine to make more or repress urine to be less? How was the process of regulation. I see a picture from an experiment which shows that the urine output is always slightly positive to the sugar concentration. I did't find the paper and don't know why. Is there anyone can explain this to me? Generally, my question is the relationship between urine output(Y) and blood glucose concentration(X), how and why.

Please be detailed.Thank you.
