Hi Friends, I am looking for a comprehensive step by step instruction on how to cluster desktop pc's with Linux OS for high availability. My intention is to learn and experiment with connecting a public server, a database server and two private cluster nodes and with network load balancing to serve web pages to outside users connected to the public server via internet. The web server is Apache and the database is MySQL. I would very much appreciate if anyone with experience could give me a direction to implement this experiment. Thank you in advance. Regards, Welly

Is there some bioinformatics research aspect to this question? Otherwise it belongs in a more general computing forum and will be closed.

Hi,

at my lab they are using the oracle grid engine for that. I don't know too much about it and have never worked with the configuration or anything, but maybe you could look into it.
