Hi,
I have used vcf2maf to get maf files and merge all mafs into single maf using cat command. My question is the orignial vcf was 5.9G and corresponding maf was 900Mb, but I got 60G merged maf. Dose it make sense? Isn't it just simply merge by cololum that cat command dose? I wanted to used maftools for visulization in R, but it can't handle this large file. Anyone has solutions?
are you sure the output is being compressed properly?
