how to produce plot below using R

Hello Everyone, I am desperately want to plot the figure below using R. I have seen some in the circular R package but had a hard time adding the outer layer(additional tracks) as indicated below. I want to add a track that shows APP, PLAT, CD93, and FN1. Someone, know this and show me how to do it, would be a great help. Best, Amare

Actually, I have the code to get this plot done. But the problem is that don't know how to add an additional layer/track. I have seen your recommendation but it does not give me what I want to have. what I want to have is like figure 6 B in the paper shown.
