Hello Researchers

I want to know what are the distribution in transcriptomes ?

means how many parts a transcriptome can be divided ?

According to literature, a transcriptome can be divided into 5pUTR, CDS, 3pUTR, Exon, Intron ?

whether a transcriptome also contain TSS ? I want to know this ?or Promoter

Thank you

This is more of a fundamental biology question on transcription and translation than a bioinformatics questions.

I agree with rpolicastro. I think that most of your doubts can be resolved by reading standard textbooks or wikipedia, and if there are still open questions, by doing this over again. There may also be a problem, possibly language related, with your question itself: what does "can be divided" actually mean? There are many possible ways to "divide", "group", or "categorize" transcripts, depending on specific needs or tastes. (You can also group transcripts by length, or protein-coding and non-coding, or RNA-polymerase (I,II,III,IV)). Do you mean "commonly"? Then: UTR, Exon, Intron, etc. are logical or conceptual parts of eukaryote transcripts, whereas the transcriptome is the sum of all transcripts in the cell.
