perl version

When I use different versions of perl to run the script I wrote, the process will be killed in the high version perl environment(perl 5.32.1)(And the kill reason is Out of Memory).But it works well in the low version environment(perl 5.16.0).

Does anyone know what could be the reason for this? Thanks a lot for reply!

Have you tracked memory usage of both? It wouldn't be surprising if memory management is different under the hood for the two versions. If you were to insert some biology into your question, perhaps someone could suggest a more efficient way of coding what you're trying to accomplish.
