Phasing softwares

Do phasing softwares such as Beagle tell you which haplotype is coming from the father and which from the mother?

It would pay to mention your input data type, I think your goal is clear. eg VCF, long reads, short reads, etc, because there are differences between software like Beagle and others like Whatshap, which use read-backed phasing from long reads.
