I have gene of interest for lepidoptera that I want to analyse. I blasted my gene to ncbi and got many related sequences within different species of bees. I have already alligned my sequences. I have included 1 gene from tricoptera. Which I want to use as outgroup. As per literature, tricoptera and lepidoptera diverged 270 million years ago. I am so much confused about generating xml file based on my information. I hvae tried many tutorials but end up with errors. If someone could please explain in simple words, or any sort of help would be great.
