Hi,
I have recently got reunited with a sibling, but we do not know if we only share the mother, or we have a common father as well. I already have made a full genome sequencing test at dante labs, and have the resulting VCF, BAM and FASTQ files. We're considering doing the same test for my sibling as well, but I'm unsure on what would be the best way to compare them for degree of relativity (whether it's a 50% or a 25% match).
I'm a software engineer, so using open source tools wouldn't pose a problem, but I'm not sure where to start. I'd welcome any pointers, or any other solutions you may know of.
Thanks, this looks promising. How do I interpret the data points though?
