Hello,

I'm reaching out to inquire if anyone knows of a publicly available blacklist (exclusion list) for S. cerevisiae, similar to those available for the ENCODE and modENCODE model organisms. My searches have so far been unsuccessful in finding a standardized list for S. cerevisiae. I've encountered references in some studies to custom lists that exclude regions like centromeres, telomeres, and subtelomeric areas. However, these lack detailed justification for their inclusion as regions of spurious or otherwise problematic alignments.

Does a comprehensive, publicly available blacklist for S. cerevisiae exist? If so, could you point me towards it? Additionally, if anyone has insights into the rationale behind specific regions often blacklisted in yeast, that would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help and insights.

Best,
Kris
