Combining expression and mutation data from TCGA

I am working on a project and I want to combine mutation and expression data using ML. As I am new to machine learning and also I am using TCGA Data for the first time, how can I combine the two effectively?

Also what are some basic steps to prepare data to be used in a machine learning model?
