Good afternoon, I'd like to ask. I'm a newcomer for biotechnology and nanoscience and never did this before, so I'd like to clarify. I tried to make the experiments for dark fermentation via adding some hydroxyapatite nanoparticles (NPs) (20 nm, purity - 99.02 %, Macklin), however they hardly ever increased H2 production. I didn't do any preparation with nanoparticles after buying, didn't treat with any solutions and ultrasound. Maybe because the culture was suspended the experiment failed, maybe because of the NPs hadn't been treated. I don't know. The question is do I have to treat any nanoparticles with any chemicals or ultrasound after buying and before experiment. I really hope to obtain an answer of more experienced people.
This is off-topic here, and experimental design in general should be discussed with your PI and peers to eactly gget "more experienced people"'s opinions, not strangers on the internet. Going blind in experiments as a newbie is almost guaranteed to fail.
