I had 24 Neisseria gonorrhoeae isolates and used cgMLST v1 from PubMLST in 2024 to determine their sequence types. When I rechecked the same assembly FASTA files in 2025, I was surprised to find that 8 of the 24 isolates now showed different sequence types. Most notably, 3 isolates that previously shared the same sequence type no longer matched—only one retained the original ST, while the other two were assigned different ones. The assemblies themselves have not changed. Is this behavior expected?
