This course will provide participants with both theoretical background and hands-on training on how genomic and transcriptomic data can be used to identify sex chromosomes and study their evolution. Topics include:
- Detection of homo-/heteromorphic sex chromosomes
- Early stages of sex chromosome differentiation
- Recombination suppression and evolutionary strata
- Gene gain/loss, divergence, and dosage compensation
- Sex-biased gene expression analysis
The course combines lectures, practical exercises, and interactive discussions with instructors.
