Trouble when installing arb

Hi!

I am struggling trying to to install arb to my linux server.

I downloaded the recent arb install files and performed

bash arb_install.sh

Then, I faced an error message that calls;

#arb.tgz uncompressed and untared
Error in arb_install.sh:
  bin/arb_ntree not found
Please fix and then rerun script!

I have no clue where to start with this error.. I tried searching for the answer but couldn't find a suitable solution.

Hi! The error says that arb_ntree is missing in bin/ folder. How have you installed the tool? Have you followed README instructions?

thank you for your comment! yes, i am aware that it means that "arb_ntree" is missing in the bin/ folder. I followed the readme instructions and was unsuccessful in installing the "arb_ntree" program. most of all, i was unable to locate where to find the arb_ntree source for me to download and install manually.

I've got the same error when installing from arb-6.0.6-source.tgz and arb-7.0-source.tgz. Anyone has any solution?

Are you referring to software found here --> http://download.arb-home.de/release/latest/ ? If so why are you installing the source. Authors recommend that you use pre-compiled binaries.

Also of note is this from authors:

Do not uncompress and untar arb.tgz directly, instead, use the install script (arb_install.sh)!
