Hi everyone,
I'm excited to announce that the Computational Biology Core (CBC) at The University of Connecticut has several upcoming virtual bioinformatics workshops that may be of interest to the community. Except for our in-person Microbial Ecology workshop, all are three days and run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST on Microsoft Teams or Zoom. We make all materials (recordings, slides, scripts, and data) available to all participants, as well as temporary access to high-performance computing resources for performing analyses and exploring data. No experience with HPC or Linux is required, as we have plenty of introductory materials to share with folks. Our workshop schedule is below, for those interested.
Oct. 28 - 30: ChIP-seq & ATAC-seq w/ Dr. Kerry Cobb
Nov. 18 - 20: Genome Annotation w/ Dr. Adam Rork
Dec. 15 - 18: Microbial Ecology w/ Dr. Kendra Maas
Dec. 16 - 18: RAD-seq w/ Dr. Kerry Cobb
Jan. 20 - 22: Variant Detection (instructor TBD)
In Spring 2026, we will be offering several additional workshops including genome assembly, reference-guided RNA-seq, de novo RNA-seq, and single-cell RNA-seq workshops, variously taught by Adam Rork and Kerry Cobb. All workshops are $500 ($400 for UConn affiliates).
