Hello everyone,

I have one question about TCGA barcode.

I know the logic of TCGA barcode (from here : https://wiki.nci.nih.gov/display/TCGA/TCGA+Barcode).

But I find strange TCGA barcodes from TCGA level 1(or 2) Genome-wide SNP6 data sets.

Normal TCGA barcode looks like this: "TCGA-02-0003- XXX", but this barcode is like this: "TCGA-OR-A5K*-***".

So it's not matched with a logic of TCGA barcode.

Dose anyone know about this?

Many thanks :)

TCGA-OR-A5K*-*** looks normal too. Can you be a bit more specific of what you think is the issue?

OR is the TSS for University of Michigan. And the wildcards you mentioned here fall within the range of TCGA barcode as well.
