Hi all,
I have recently been thinking a lot about applying to independent post-doc fellowships, a.k.a early independent positions. These positions are already quite scarce and there is not much information out there on these fellowships or how to properly apply for one. I decided to address this lack of documentation and examples problem, and recently started blogging about my experience with these fellowships (inspired by http://hearstartup.com). Also inspired by Titus Brown, Ethan White and many others, I made my research proposal publicly open on GitHub, with the hope that graduate students also considering applying to these fellowships will find it useful for their own writing.
The series currently features three blog posts:
- Introduction: http://ergoso.me/career/2014/10/16/the-road-to-independence-independent-postdoc-fellowships.html
- Application material: http://ergoso.me/career/2014/10/25/the-road-to-independence-what-it-takes.html
- Proposal and CV: http://ergoso.me/career/2014/11/13/the-road-to-independence-research-proposal-and-cv.html
This is kind of a shameless plug (so my apologies), but just wanted to post this here to spread the word for graduate students out there seeking help on similar topics.
Thanks
