pindel2vcf output VCF file format

Hello,

I am using pindel2vcf and the first line of the output VCF is:

##fileformat=VCFv4.0

However in the RELEASE it claims pindel2vcf was updated to support

END positions updated according to http://www.1000genomes.org/wiki/Analysis/Variant%20Call%20Format/vcf-variant-call-format-version-41

I am using a downstream filter that only works with VCF file format version 4.1 and greater. Is the file format version misrepresented in the VCF or is it in fact version 4.0?

the format is compatible with with higher VCF versions.
