Hi

I am trying to understand what kind of data is in the mRNA dataset of TGCA.

If I open a file, among the other things, there are "genename" for the sequenced parts.

However the gene names are not what I am used to see (e.g. in the NCBI platform), there is no CD34, PHLDB2, VEGFR, and so on.

The names are reported as A_24_P240166 or similar codes, which I guess it is the Agilent name. Googling it I gathered that for example A_24_P240166 means PHLDB2.

Can I assume that these agilent names for the mRNA sequences are unequivocally linked to the traditional name of the gene? I mean if I find a matching table are they synonymous or each Reporter Name can be related to different genes?
