Hi, Bioinformatics sysadmin here with a 'soft question' about hardware.
I need to come up with a way to reliably and portably archive multi-terabyte lab data to be transported offsite.
I would pull data from rack-mounted Linux servers, and ideally I would like to be able to examine the archive media on a Mac workstation.
An LTO6/LTFS conforming external tape drive looks like a possibility: however most require a mini-SAS connection, although there are a couple of newer ones that claim to support USB3
Anyone else out there been doing something similar -- any hardware tips or suggestions?
Thanks in advance. [NG]
