error running abyss-pe with np option on mac snow leopard

Hello,

I downloaded source v1.9.0 and successfully compiled it on Mac snow leopard 10.6. I tried running abyss-pe but got the following error

abyss-pe works fine without the np option. What do I need to do to make the parallel version of abyss-pe work on my machine? Thank you,
