The Center for Health Sciences at SRI International has an opening for a Biomedical Data Engineer. The successful candidate will work as a collaborative team member supporting SRI and Stanford scientists to push forward our vision of open and reproducible neuroscience research. This person will manage data and implement enhancements to a biomedical data repository and analysis platform that leverages Web services and data standards to streamline study operations. The current system fuses demographic data, clinical measures, neuropsychological test results, and MR images to enhance discovery in adolescent brain development and alcoholism. The platform is funded in part by the NIH Big Data to Knowledge Initiative (BD2K, https://datascience.nih.gov/bd2k), the National Consortium on Alcohol and NeuroDevelopment in Adolescence (NCANDA, http://www.ncanda.org), and the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Study (ABCD, http://addictionresearch.nih.gov/adolescent-brain-cognitive-development-study)
The SRI Center of Health Sciences, in collaboration with Stanford University, carries out multidisciplinary research funded by NIH with a focus on HIV, substance abuse, brain development, and cardiac diseases. Human imaging studies are performed on MR imaging systems on the SRI site and in collaboration with other centers, such as NCANDA. The research program is interdisciplinary and consists of clinicians, computer scientists, informaticians, physicists, psychologists, and statisticians, with appointments at SRI International, Stanford, or both institutions.

- Excellent coding skills in Python (e.g., Scipy, Pandas) and bash scripting.
- Experience contributing to open source projects (e.g., Using Github)
- Experience with Web Service APIs (e.g., AWS, REDCap, XNAT)
- Familiarity with Semantic Web Technologies (e.g., RDF, OWL, SPARQL)
Employment at SRI is contingent on successful completion of a background check.
