Hi! I am looking for information about encoding quality score for different NGS platforms.
Here are descibed encoding methods for Illumina platform (Phred33 and Phred64). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FASTQ_format#Encoding
How quality score is encoded in fastq files from other platforms like SOLID, IonTorrent or Roche454?
Q-scores on LifeTech instruments are in sanger fastq format but the actual scores are calculated differently than other platforms. Current supported values appear to be 0-44. You will need to create an account on the ioncommunity web site (they keep most information related to ion behind a login required wall) to view some of this information.
