As a member of our team, you will develop databases and accompanying software used in big data bioinformatics analysis as part of an interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers at the forefront of genomic research into catastrophic childhood disease. Under minimal supervision, you will participate and lead in developing and managing a one-of-its-kind database central to the institution’s precision medicine initiatives and housing the largest pediatric cancer datasets in the world. You will support researchers in the Department of Computational Biology by providing data management solutions for complex and varied scientific datasets, and you will generate reports and figures for scientific publications. You will participate in analysis of genomic data with a focus on next-generation sequence analysis. You will enhance database schemas and develops new APIs to support scientific research and web portal development.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or related field is required Master's degree is preferred

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Ten (10) years of experience in database development and programming is required or six (6) years of experience with a Master's degree

In-depth experience with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL or Oracle. SQL and pl/Psql (or pl/sql)

Proficient in Database Design and Programming

Experience in developing scientific data management system is required

Experience in bioinformatics and genetics preferred
