uniplex/multiplex SNP genotyping platform

Hello, could somebody explain what uniplex/multiplex SNP genotyping platform is? I think that an uniplex platform is used to analyse just one sample per run whereas a multiplex platform is used to process more samples per run (and some tool distinguishes the samples), but I am not sure.

This is likely technology dependent, but in my interpretation a uniplex would be the genotyping of one SNP (in one or many samples) while a multiplex would be the genotyping of many SNPs (in one or many samples).
