A postdoctoral position in Computational Cancer Biology is available in the Batada Lab (http://www.cgem.ed.ac.uk/research/people/nizar-batada) at the Institute for Genetics and Molecular Medicine within the University of Edinburgh.

The candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting edge projects in cancer biology such as tumor genome evolution and anti-tumor immune response for application in precision cancer therapy.

Ideal candidate would have demonstrated (i.e. publications) experience in analyzing high throughput sequencing data such as exome/whole genome sequencing and RNA-seq. Some projects will involve analysis of single-cell sequencing data.

Applications are encouraged from those combining a biological background with experience in computational analysis or from those with a mathematical/computer science background and a keen interest in biology. We welcome applications from graduates from disciplines such as mathematics, statistics, physics, and informatics to a world leading biomedical research institution to work on exciting problems in cancer computational biology and bioinformatics. Admitted students will be familiar with a programming (python, matlab or R), basic statistics, have knowledge of genomics and machine learning.

Informal inquiries are welcome. nizar.batada # gmail.com Application Deadline: 30 Dec 2016 Expected start date: 15 Jan 2017
