What is the difference between structural RNA-derived reads and non-structural RNA-derived reads?

I was reading a research paper about analysis of small RNA. They mentioned structural RNA-derived reads and non-structural many times and i googled them still confused.

To my knowledge, there is no difference between reads derived from structural and non-structural RNAs, once you get them. What is different is how hard it is to obtain such reads since, for example, primers may have to outcompete intra-molecular base pairing to bind to a structured RNA.

If anyone still does duplex-specific nuclease library normalization, it can have an effect too. It supposedly doesn't degrade sRNA species with hairpins or other secondary structure, but when we tried it, appeared to do it anyway.
