Dear all,
I'm relatively new to Beast. I have run a Bayesian Skyline Analysis with a large dataset and I would like to calculate the population size (Ne). As I have read, when using substitution rates for calibration, the y-axis is a product of Ne*tau (generations time). If I have a generation time of 333333,33/Mya, Ne should be Ne=y/333333,33. However, I'm having such low y values (5 at most), so a Ne=5/333333,33 doesn't make any sense at all. Is my interpretation correct? Do have I to calculate it in other way? Or maybe I have set up the beast parameters incorrectly?
Thanks!
