I have a BS in Biology with a Biomedical focus. I want to pursue Bioinformatics and I was looking into different online masters programs. NYC Tandon School of Engineering has an online program that also offers a bridge course to help students that haven't taken a sufficient amount of computer science classes. This seems like the perfect option for me, but I want to make sure this isn't too good to be true. Will employers respect a degree from an online program? And if so, is NYC Tandon School of Engineering a good program to graduate from? Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a Masters from NYU Tandon School of Engineering (back from when it was Polytechnic School of Engineering). The best part of NYU SoE (I refuse to call it Tandon) is that you can take courses from other NYU schools. See if you have access to that in the online program.

Is Prof. Brathwaite still the person heading the program?

I just checked, Bud Mishra is on the Faculty list. I've heard great things about him. NYU Systems Biology also has a course by Richard Bonneau, although I'm not if that's available online. It was hands down the best course I took.
