ROLE of the POSITION The Nevada Institute of Personalized Medicine (NIPM) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for an Assistant Research Professor position. The staff member will conduct research in the area of cell/molecular and human genetics, will be expected to initiate independent research in the field of genetics and establish external funding to support their salary.
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Required Qualifications: This position requires a Ph.D. degree in genetics or related biological field from a regionally accredited college or university and four years related supervisory experience. Ideally, an applicant should have lab skills in the areas of molecular and cellular biology and NGS sequencing data, and a good track record of publications.
Experiments related to cell and molecular biology and human genetics Analysis of the NGS data Documentation by keeping a lab notebook, and assisting with the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications Training and oversight of graduate and undergraduate students SALARY RANGE Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
