The Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer (IRIC) in partnership with the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal (UdeM) invites applications for a Principal Investigator position in the broad domain of Bioinformatics. IRIC and UdeM are committed to developing world class expertise in this field. The new Principal Investigator will play pivotal roles in complementing the research strengths of the Institute.

Specifically, outstanding applications are sought in the areas of software and algorithm development for integrative bioinformatics analysis of systems-wide datasets, machine learning, big data analysis, mechanisms of biological information processing, and mathematical modeling of biological networks.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree, and have a strong publication record. Candidates will be expected to develop an innovative, internationally recognized, externally funded research program. IRIC - UdeM offers competitive recruitment packages commensurate with experience and qualifications, a research intensive environment, state-of-the art facilities and competitive graduate training programs. The new Principal Investigator will be cross-appointed in a Department of the Faculty of Medicine of UdeM. Selected candidates may be eligible also for a researcher position within IVADO ( the new UdeM institute for research in data science, operations research and artificial intelligence.

Applicants should submit a CV, a statement of research interests (including an outline for an independent research program), along with three letters of reference via the website prior to February 15th, 2018. Applications will only be accepted in electronic (PDF) format. We thank all applicants for their interest, however only short listed candidates for the positions, which could start as early as fall 2018, will be contacted.
