I believe Jalview may also be able to show similar schematics, give that a try.

I'm not sure what PDB uses specifically, but you can get very similar results with ESpript. I think you usually use the output files of something like DSSP to dictate where the secondary structure lies, and then tools like ESpript render it on to the sequence.
