I have an fasta dataset (n=100) with a RNA viral nucleotide sequences ~700 bp each sequence. It's similarity to each other is about 97% for nucleotide and 99% for aminoacid.I would like to know if codon bias analysis is necessary,to evaluate evolution ,and could bring me something interesting,or with this similarity level it's not necessary to perform this analysis?

Thanks and sorry for my rusty english!

A list of unecessary situations would be a long one.

Why dont you explain what it is you actually want to know about your dataset and work backwards with us from there to figure out what analysis is needed?
