Background Information: Quadrant Biosciences is a biotechnology company focusing on developing novel functional assessments and epigenetic biomarker technologies for neurological conditions such as concussion, autism spectrum disorder and Parkinson’s disease.

Quadrant Biosciences works with top academic institutions, medical researchers and engineers to translate breakthrough findings into thoughtfully developed and scientifically sound assessment applications.

Position Offered: The focus of this position is to develop bioinformatics pipelines and analysis for the development of diagnostic products.

The Bioinformaticist will be responsible for driving research from conception to publication to implementation.

Duties include development of bioinformatics algorithms and pipelines, data analysis, and presentations of findings in accordance with Institutional Review Board (IRB) criteria and HIPAA compliance. The Bioinformaticist will also be responsible for sharing knowledge within the research team and within the company.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who grow with the team to tackle new challenges as they arise. This is an opportunity to produce meaningful, impactful, reproducible research.

Education: PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, or related field. Masters with experience will also be considered. History of collaborative analysis and publications expected.

Requirements:

  • Experience developing and implementing bioinformatics algorithms and pipelines
  • Experience with gene sequencing and RNA sequencing, alignment methods, data analysis, and interpretation
  • Experience performing exploratory data analysis, data visualization, predictive modeling, and scientific writing and presentations
  • Experience programing in R, Python, and/or MATLAB
  • Ideal candidates will be familiar with version control systems and protocols
  • Demonstrate the following personal attributes: accountability, curiosity, drive, and confidence
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and willingness to learn
  • Organize and prioritize work tasks with attention to detail

Other Requirements/Characteristics: Must be a team player and willing to take initiative. Excellent organizational skills required. Must be able to work independently.
