Dear community,
I am a molecular biologist (currently working as a post-doc in academia) and would like to continue my education in bioinformatics. On the one hand, because I'm really interested in this field, but on the other hand, in order to make myself more attractive for an upcoming change to industry (I've been programming websites for several years (php/mysql/javascript) and am currently learning python). I would like to know which is the best way to train myself "professionally" - would you think, that it may be a good idea to acquire a B.Sc in Computer Science (for example at the University of Hagen (Ger), 2-3 years) or should I spend my time on "more specialized" offers (for example: online bioinformatics courses at "Udemy")? What do you think? Thanks for any help!
