The Center for Human Identification was created in 2004, formally integrating the efforts of the Laboratory of Forensic Anthropology and the Laboratory for Molecular Identification. In addition to providing investigators with important information regarding cases, the anthropological data are used to refine molecular analyses within the CODIS system. This collaboration has created a unique resource for the identification of missing persons and unidentified remains, and is available to law enforcement agencies and medicolegal entities charged with the investigation of death across the nation. Additional support is also available to agencies through the Center’s Forensic Services Unit.

Job Duties:

As the center is growing and expanding to genomics and associated omics research, we are actively seeking talented postdoctoral fellows, who are interested in bioinformatics, genomics, multi-omics and related fields, to join our fast-growing team and expand our research fields. The postdoctoral fellows may work on the current on-going projects and also are encouraged to explore new research projects/fields. The details of the research unit of UNTCHI could be found at The postdoc fellows are expected to perform bioinformatics related research and develop relevant software programs under the supervision of the faculty in UNTCHI.

The postdoc fellows are expected to publish their research outcomes. The center encourages the postdoc fellows to pursue an academic career and has the record of promoting the outstanding junior researchers to faculty position
