Hello. I am a Bachelor student and working on fungal identification from rose bushes. I obtained around 60 samples and after DNA extraction the samples were sequenced through Sanger sequencing. As primer we used ITS1. Now I am blasting my results and I am not happy about some of the results. In general I would like to know what kind of tools or information do I need to obtain? Should I learn Perl? Which online tools or software tools do I need? And what type of books should I take a look into? I have so little knowledge that I dont even know what type of knowledge I need to obtain and in which order. Could someone tell me what skills I need to get if I want to handle sequences? And also which tools and sources would get me the skills?

Happy if someone could tell me a list and an order on how to learn more skills. Thank you, Oliver

I have so little knowledge that I dont even know what type of knowledge I need to obtain and in which order.

I strongly suggest to talk to your supervisor on guidance and planning of analysis. This is not what an online community should do. Even if people suggest tools for you then you still need supervision to properly apply it and interpret results , but this is beyond what biostars can or should offer. Please talk openly to your supervisor.
