Hi guys,

I am trying to download RNA seq using fastq dump. The reads are paired end reads so I am also splitting them. When I try to download the 24 files, the sra cache for each file is also being downloaded in the home directory where I only 13 gb of space. The first couple of files download in the directory where I have 10TB of space but their .sra.cache files download in my home directory and it fills up space quickly and once it reaches the 13 gb, the rest of the files download but I get the error "No space left on device". I am wondering even though I see the files I downloaded, is something wrong with them or are they fine and why do I keep getting the error? Appreciate any help. Thank you.

Did you run the vdb-config -i to designate a location where SRA files are downloaded? Additional help at: https://github.com/ncbi/sra-tools/wiki/03.-Quick-Toolkit-Configuration

No one can help with that specific error if you don't have write permissions to the directory you are trying to choose. You may need to talk with your admins in that case.

I tried it again running it in the directory I wanted to save it in and I think it works now. Thank you
