Hello.

I am a newbie of bioinformatics.

I want to analyze my raw data of RNA sequencing (Illumina).

But, my laptop's RAM is too small, so I want to use AWS EC2 service.

I wonder if it is possible to connect the EC2 server to an external hard drive?

If possible, how can I do?

Because my own raw data is on an external hard drive.

Or can I move my data in external hard drive to EBS (Elastic block store)?

Any help would be appreciated.

You should move the data to AWS as well.

Thank you for your answer.

You mean, I have to upload my data to EBS? and then analyze using EC2 server?

If it is right, can you explain how to move my data to EBS?

I am afraid this is not something you can learn via a forum such as this. Amazon has many tutorials on getting started with AWS. There are lots of other videos on YouTube that address this topic as well. You can simply search for those.
