Hello, so I ran my whole genome raw reads through Jellyfish and GenomeScope to gain some insight on basic genome characteristics. However, I am a little confused about the % heterozygosity score. On a previously published whole genome study for a similiar organism, the % heterozygosity = 0.464%. However, my GenomeScope profile looks a little different. Rather than % het, I am given aa (homozygous) and ab (heterozygous). The heterozygous (ab) = 2.41%. I am a little confused about the difference between the two properties. I will attach both screenshots, from my genome profile as well as from the published paper (Xu, Z., Gao, T., Xu, Y., Li, X., Li, J., Lin, H., ... & Tang, J. (2021). A chromosome-level reference genome of red swamp crayfish Procambarus clarkii provides insights into the gene families regarding growth or development in crustaceans. Genomics, 113(5), 3274-3284.)
