How to download a locked sra file from NCBI SRA?

Hello,

I wanted to download an SRA file from NCBI by placing the prefetch command. However, after placing the command, it mentioned that the file could not be downloaded because it is locked.

warn: libs/vfs/resolver.c:2328:VResolverAlgCacheResolve: lock exists while copying file - Lock file /home/sabreena/SRR      /SRR.sra.lock exists: download canceled

What should I do now? I need to download it to convert it into FASTQ file. It is very important. Please help.

If this file does not require controlled access then you can simply try deleting the lock file mentioned above (assuming file at SRA is not locked, there is a local file with that name) and see if the download resumes. Perhaps the lock file is from an earlier failed attempt.
