I am planning an experiment to sequence and analyse Plasmodium falciparum samples for resistance gene detection. Are there any peculiarities to take note of given the high AT richness of the Plasmodium falciparum genome? Also, can anyone recommend sequencing kits for this type of experiment?
My recommendation is to contact a sequencing facility and ask for an end-to-end quote including the library prep and the sequencing. Whole-genome sequencing is standard these days, so all you would need to do is to send in the purified DNA, they do the rest. No need to get started with kits yourself for something as established as that.
Thanks but we are looking to build capacities in that regard so it is essential that it is on-site. I'm more interested in the analysis and if there are any considerations for working high AT genomes.
