Hi,

I am using miRDB for miRNA target gene prediction. I have nearly 26 DEmiRNAs.

Each miRNA gives more than 300 genes. sometimes it reaches 3000 too.

I have given an example below. So here my question is Should I take every gene for the next process or need to be filtered?

Because each of the 26 miRNAs provides more than 11000 genes (8000+ are unique).

There are 813 predicted targets for mmu-miR-1271-5p in miRDB.

Target Rank Target Score miRNA Name Gene Symbol Gene Description

1 100 mmu-miR-1271-5p Nexmif neurite extension and migration factor

   2 100 mmu-miR-1271-5p Slc39a1 solute carrier family 39 (zinc transporter),member1

   3 99 mmu-miR-1271-5p Plppr4 phospholipid phosphatase related 4

Hi, Due to the high rate of false positives in predicted miRNA targets (obtained from predicted tools) you can use experimental databases similar to tarbase

In addition, integrated databases such as mirDIP will also be very useful ...
