Position Summary This position assists with the technical aspects of studies and experiments, including documentation, preparation of materials, performing experiments and delivery of reports.

This research broadly deals with understanding the neuropathology of Alzheimer Disease (AD). AD is characterized by the deposition of protein aggregates that interfere with neuronal synapsis, cause inflammation and eventual cell death. Genomic and other large omics technologies are identifying novel potential players in the pathology of AD. These omics-driven studies will be complimented by performing functional analysis to confirm the actual role of these in-silico discoveries and determine their exact role in the pathogenesis of AD. For that purpose, we generate induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived neural models (neuron, astrocyte, microglia), modify the expression of genes of interest in these cell models, and evaluate the possible consequences of such modification on the main pathways involved in the pathology of AD.
