Hi everyone,

I have two questions regarding data/annotations (parallel to human) for non-human primates:

  1. The GENCODE gene annotation file provides very comprehensive gene annotation but GENCODE has files only for human and mouse. Can I find some parallel file for non-human primates from any resource? I looked at refGene.txt and ensGene.txt files from UCSC but the number of genes are fewer (like chimpanzee ensGene.txt file has ~30,000 genes while human GENCODE file has ~60,000 genes) and also annotations in these files are not that comprehensive as GENCODE.

  2. I need transcript ids for the principal transcript isoforms. I got it from APPRIS for human and chimpanzee. I need it for gorilla as well. Can I get it from any resource?

TIA. Would be very grateful for any help/hint.

Download button --> RefSeq --> Transcripts + genome sequence and whatever else you need.
