Hi! I have the results from my DEG analysis, and the genes are in the 'CAALFM_CR00740CA' format. I'd like to convert these IDs to their gene symbols. How can I do that?

Using EntrezDirect (looks like these are Candida albicans ID's):

$ esearch -db protein -query CAALFM_CR00740CA | elink -target gene | esummary | xtract -pattern DocumentSummary -element Name,OtherDesignations,OtherAliases
BMT3 Bmt3p CAALFM_CR00740CA
