There is no magic wand in solving this problem. You need to look into the files and tell us what are the differences between those that worked and those that didn't. Is it file size? Were they made by the same program? It is like in procedural shows on TV: tough to conclude anything definitively without information.

On the surface, it seems like a memory issue.

Thank you so much for your reply. The multiz program which downloaded from this page(https://github.com/multiz/multiz)(multiz.v11.2), and I use the same command(multiz M=1 _MZ_2222467_left.maf5 _MZ_2222467_right.maf5 0 _MZ_2222467_C3 _MZ_2222467_C4 >> /_MZ_2222467_MZ5, this command reported the error segmentation fault (core dumped) ) to run the multiz except for the input file, the details about the input file as shown in this figure. input file which occurred error the input file which does not occur error is have no question

I think it may have nothing to do with file size. I use the mafSplit to split maf files by chr and then run multiz again. But the problem doesn't seem to be solved.

See: https://github.com/multiz/multiz/issues/4

This appears to be an unresolved issue.
