he Majority Phase in Count Data

Hello,

I have a dataset consisting of counts across three phases: p0, p1, and p2. Here's an example:

Contig p0 p1 p2
cont1 1 7 3
cont2 9 2 3
cont3 1 2 7

I want to determine the predominant phase for each row, i.e., the phase with the highest count. For instance, in row 1, it's phase p1.

What statistical test can I use to select the majority phase? I'm looking for a method that considers the count distribution across all three phases and helps identify the phase with the highest count in a statistically significant manner.
