Colombo, May 2024: I am delighted to share that I received the Best Oral Presentation Award in a workshop cum symposium titled "Advancing Next Generation Sequencing in South Asian Region: A Residential Workshop for International and Local Attendees" held in Homagama, Sri Lanka sponsored by International Centre For Genetic Engineering And Biotechnology (ICGEB) from 6 – 10 May 2024. The chief organiser for this workshop was Dr. Vishwanath Chandrasekharan (Sri Lanka Institute of Biotechnology – SLIBTEC). My symposium talk was titled "Differential mRNA expression pattern and regulated pathopathways in ischemic stroke: meta-analytic inferences".
South-South Cooperation through the exchange of bioinformatic skillset, technology and data among developing countries in the Southern Hemisphere, is playing an ever more crucial role in driving progress and prosperity at the global and regional levels. ICGEB is timely harnessing the power of bioinformatics to foster sustainable development through tangible benefits that uplift communities across the global south.
